About us

AUS Projects NT's Aboriginal Workforce has consistently exceeded 50% of the total staff on the books, this ratio is expected to increase now we are under Aboriginal majority ownership of AUS (Aboriginal United Services)

AUS Projects NT, established in 1988, has provided high quality electrical and building maintenance services in the Katherine region for over 30 years. AUS Projects NT's head office is in Katherine, with additional remote sites located in Borroloola, Lajamanu, Alice Springs, Kalkarindji, Timber Creek, Yarralin, Beswick/Barunga, Pine Creek, Robinson River and Elliott.

Owing to the quality of services provided, AUS Projects NT has been a long term supplier of essential services including power station, water and sewerage systems maintenance for Power Water Corporation, and has served multiple terms on Government period contracts, for both Commonwealth and Northern Territory Governments.

AUS Projects NT has a proud history of supporting Territorians in remote locations, including through the provision of employment for Aboriginal Territorians. Recognising the significant footprint that AUS Projects NT has established, and AUS Projects NT’s longstanding history in working in remote communities, Western Australian-based Aboriginal United Services (“AUS”) took the opportunity to acquire the majority share in AUS Projects NT in 2018. AUS is an Aboriginal owned company that provides logistical support to mining operations in Western Australia. AUS’s operations are underpinned by its commitment to sustainable employment of Aboriginal people.

Combining AUS Projects NT’s reputation for quality and long term experience operating in remote Northern Territory, with AUS’s aggressive growth strategy in pursuit of Aboriginal employment, the companies have come together to agree an ambitious growth strategy for AUS Projects NT over the coming five years. The strategy is centred around geographical expansion in the earlier years, ahead of diversification of skills and accessing new markets in the latter years of the plan.
